UNCASVILLE, Connecticut, March 21 — Connecticut’s CIAC boys basketball championships continued on Saturday with the Windham Tech [Willimantic, CT] Mighty Tigers defeating the Woodland Regional [Beacon Falls, CT] Hawks, 73-62.
The loss was Woodland Regional’s first of the season, bringing a painful end to a 31-1 campaign. Windham Tech, meanwhile, finished 27-6 en route to winning their first state championship in boys basketball since 1967.
The Connecticut CIAC championships continue throughout the day at Uncasville’s Mohegan Sun Arena.
