Vuono-Reid leads Paramus tri-op by Passaic Tech in Big North Silver semi – Ice Hockey

James Vuono-Reid scored a pair of power play goals and tallied an assist on the remaining goal for the second-seeded Paramus-Mahwah-Lyndhurst tri-op in its 3-2 win over Passaic Tech in the semifinal round of the Big North Silver Cup at the Ice Vault in Wayne.

The Paramus tri-op’s victory sets up a clash for the championship with fourth-seeded Clifton United, which upset top-seeded Northern Valley by a score of 5-3 in the other semifinal game.

Zach Soder opened the scoring for Passaic Tech in the first period, and the Bulldogs rode Soder’s tally to a 1-0 lead through the first 15 minutes. Givanni Masi scored the Paramus tri-op’s second goal and recorded an assist on the third. EJ Scherer turned aside 28 shots in goal for the Paramus tri-op (11-9-2).

Brayden Schamble drew Passaic Tech to within one with his third-period goal. Evan Schamble, Justin Katz and Kyle Madeira each recorded an assist for Passaic Tech (8-13-1).
