Morris Tech pulled away in the third quarter to defeat American Christian 41-26 in Rockaway.
Julie Polachek filled the stat sheet for Morris Tech (7-14) with 10 points, eight rebounds, five blocks, and six steals in a dominant all-around performance. Madelyn Shanley added 12 points, including a three-pointer, along with two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
After trailing 9-6 in the first quarter, Morris Tech outscored American Christian (9-5) 12-4 in the second quarter to take an 18-13 halftime lead. The Devils then put the game out of reach with a decisive 19-2 third-quarter run before American Christian responded with an 11-4 advantage in the final period.
Heleno Kristi contributed nine points for Morris Tech, while Fiona Benoza added six points and four rebounds. The Devils’ defense was particularly effective, recording 12 steals and six blocks as a team.
Morris Tech controlled the boards with 23 total rebounds and displayed good ball movement with eight assists. The Devils converted 16 two-point field goals and one three-pointer in the victory.
