Three ways Samsung is bringing ‘AI companions’ to improve your daily routine

Can you imagine coming home after a long day at work to find clean floors, washed and dried clothes, and no nagging inner voice crying out “What should I make for dinner?”

It sounds like bliss – and a far off fantasy. After all, who is doing your housework if not you?

Samsung used CES 2026 – the world’s largest consumer electronics conference that just took place in Las Vegas – to show how more people can experience a new standard of living through AI Companions.

No, these companions aren’t futuristic little robots that you need to carve out a new bedroom for in your home.

Rather, Samsung showed how it is transforming existing products like refrigerators, washing machines, TVs, and mobile phones, into companions that are smart enough to quietly weave through everyday moments to help bring convenience, security, and care to your everyday life.

Not only can these companions optimise how each product works. For example, your Bespoke AI Ultra Stick vacuumcan automatically adjust the vacuum suction power when it detects you’ve moved from a carpeted room to floorboards for a better clean. [1]

In 2026, Samsung has gone even further by enabling various products to work even better together to create companions that truly understand you, adapts to your life, and delivers meaningful experiences to take ‘life admin’ off your plate.

What does this look like? Below, we review the three ways in which Samsung AI Companions will help make life a little simpler.

We all know that the mental headache of managing a household – the endless cycle of laundry, grocery lists, and the recurring “did I turn the oven off?” question.

To reduce the mental load, Samsung is transforming appliances from tools into Home Companions that take over the thinking.

The aim of this is to reduce the decision making and effort involved in running a busy household.

As Australians continue to spend cautiously, cook at home and prioritise energy efficiency, 67 per cent say they’ve started using AI to help with household chores. [2]

Since a staggering 69 per cent of Australians already own a smart home device and multiple connected products in their household [3] , the shift towards appliances that work together (rather than adding complexity) is beginning to reflect how people actually want technology to support daily life.

This integration can show up in a number of ways. For example, picture the Bespoke AI Heat Pump Combo Washer Dryerthat can recognise various fabric types and load soil levels, to automatically select the ideal cycle so that you don’t have to. [4]

Not only does this mean your clothes come out clean, but the load might finish faster, and have used less energy because the washing machine is designed to tailor the cycle to the load.

Appliances like these can also monitor their own performance and surface potential issues early.

Instead of encountering a surprise breakdown on a Saturday morning, the AI can send an alert to your phone if it senses an issue like a blockage or leak, leading you to a quick-fix solution while avoiding the stress of mysterious malfunctions. [5]

Then there’s the luxury of refrigerators like the Bespoke AI Family Hub Fridge™ that can track what’s in your fridge and suggest recipes based on what’s there, making it easier to plan for future meals and reduce unnecessary food waste.

The Family Hub will help you create shopping lists that live on your phone so you don’t miss an item when you hit the shops, and can even alter recipes to food preferences, allergies, or cooking skill levels before sending a note to your AI Oven to preheat and start cooking. [6]

In 2026, Samsung’s range of Wi-Fi enabled appliances – spanning refrigerators, washing machines, ovens, and vacuum cleaners – will be able to detect problems before they occur, utilise energy systems to optimise usage automatically, or and adapt in real time to your family’s schedule.

Backed by 7 years of software upgrades, your Home Companions will be part of the family for years to come. [7]

Samsung TVs are fast evolving into Entertainment Companions, using AI to understand questions about a show that you ask it, bring your favourite streaming apps to the front of the menu, and optimise picture and sound automatically to your viewing conditions.

The result? A smarter entertainment experience without constant manual adjustment or disruption to what’s on screen.

Whether it’s a bright Sunday afternoon watching the footy or a dark Friday night movie session, your Samsung Entertainment Companion will automatically tune the picture so colours always look rich and vibrant. [8]

Samsung’s 2026 TVs will also include Vision AI Companion to transform everyday viewing into a natural two-way dialogue. Australians can ask their TV simple questions – whether it’s recommending what to wear based on trending clothing styles, or finding the perfect brunch spot nearby.

Responses come quickly with related videos and image options to choose from, making your discovery more personalised than before [9] .

Unlike AI designed for individual devices, Samsung Vision AI Companion is purpose-built for the communal TV screen bringing everyone in your living room closer together. This is particularly important for Australians given almost half say the TV enables them to share experiences, passions and interests with their families. [10]

Ongoing software updates allow compatible Samsung TVs to improve and evolve after their initial purchase, so that the performance and features can be built on without requiring new hardware.

Beyond convenience at home, Samsung mobile devices are evolving into Care Companions, featuring Galaxy AI that supports personal wellbeing.

Galaxy AI brings together activity, sleep, and lifestyle insights to help users better understand their wellbeing and make more informed everyday choices.

For example, Samsung Galaxy AI can now provide personalised health suggestions such as the Energy Score [11] and Antioxidant Index [12] which adapt over time by analysing your activity and sleep patterns.

By analysing your unique activity and sleep patterns, the AI provides suggestions that actually fit your life, rather than generic advice.

As well as this, long-term users can reap the benefits of a device that flags when something in your routine appears out of the ordinary.

Plus, built-in privacy and security protections are designed to ensure health data remains secure. Samsung Knox provides a secure space where technology supports you and helping to protect your personal info.

By shifting the focus from individual gadgets to a cohesive ecosystem, Samsung is delivering on the promise of a truly integrated smart home.

For Australians, this means leveraging AI Companions in your home and letting them work invisibly to adapt to their environment, understand context, and automatically take action to help deliver intuitive and indispensable help across your day.

By optimising our everyday routines, Samsung’s vision to deliver a new standard of living ensures we can focus on what we love most in life while our technology sweats the small stuff.

If the food is not recognisable, it may be listed as unknown item. AI Vision Inside cannot identify or list any food items in the fridge door bins or freezer. It recognises food items based on an on-device smart food management system which combines food detection and classification models to help identify food items. Learning models may be updated periodically to help improve accuracy. User may need to manually operate the list for accuracy. AI Vision Inside utilises AI-based algorithms, which may be updated periodically to improve accuracy. AI-based algorithms may generate incomplete or incorrect information.
