Auto components major Motherson Group has inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Sanand, Gujarat, dedicated to producing advanced exterior lighting systems for passenger vehicles, strengthening its footprint in high-value automotive components through its joint venture with Marelli.<\/p>\n

The 8,200 sqaure metre plant — established as part of the Motherson\u2013Marelli joint venture — is the first in India capable of manufacturing edge-to-edge, single-piece long lighting parts, enabled by high-tonnage multi-colour moulding machines ranging from 2,000T to 2,700T, the company stated in a statement here. <\/p>\n

This allows the production of seamless Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) and Rear Combination Lamps (RCLs), increasingly used as signature styling elements in modern passenger vehicles, it added.<\/p>\n

The facility also features rooftop solar installations, with plans to source additional renewable energy through open-access green power, aligning with sustainability commitments.<\/p>\n
