Information Technology (I-T) and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Monday, February 23, inaugurated the Global Technology Centre of US insurance major The Hartford in Hyderabad, marking the company\u2019s first-ever foray into India.<\/p>\n<p>The 160,000 sq ft. facility is located in the Financial District in the city\u2019s I-T hub.<\/p>\n<p>The centre is expected to scale to a headcount of nearly 1,200 over the next few years as it expands advanced digital, engineering, and AI-led capabilities for the organisation globally, a state government release said.<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/preferences\/source?q=siasat.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" class=\"google-news-btn\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p>The facility will support the company\u2019s enterprise-wide technology transformation journey, with a strong focus on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siasat.com\/tag\/artificial-intelligence-ai\/\" id=\"346437\">artificial intelligence (AI)<\/a>, digital innovation and engineering excellence, it said.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"wp-block-stl-also-read-block also_read_post clearfix stl-block stl-also-read\" aria-label=\"Related \u201crapid prototyping and seamless cross\u2013time-zone collaboration with the company\u2019s technology hubs in Hartford, Charlotte, Chicago, and Columbus (in the US)\u201d, it said.<\/p>\n<p>The Hartford\u2019s decision to begin its India journey in Hyderabad follows a \u201cfamiliar pattern\u201d, Sridhar Babu said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"stream-item-in-post awt_ad_code\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/mseducationacademy.in\/new-admission\/?ref=siasat.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> <\/a> <\/div>\n<p>When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.siasat.com\/tag\/microsoft\/\" id=\"1334\">Microsoft<\/a> expanded beyond the United States, their first major development centre outside the US was built in Hyderabad and when Google entered India, they chose Hyderabad and created their largest campus outside Mountain View (in the US), Sridhar Babu said.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, global leaders like McDonald\u2019s, Vanguard, Dai-ichi Life and Marriott International have also made Hyderabad their \u201clanding point\u201d in India, building Global Capability Centres (GCCs) that drive advanced digital engineering, AI-led operations and global capability building, he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn Hyderabad, we measure our success by the impact we help global institutions create, and we welcome The Hartford as a partner in building the next chapter of digital
