Qualcomm Technologies has entered into a partnership with Tata Electronics to produce Qualcomm Automotive Modules in India.<\/p>\n

The manufacturing will take place at Tata Electronics\u2019 new semiconductor assembly and test facility, currently being developed in Jagiroad, Assam, India. <\/p>\n

This initiative forms part of both companies\u2019 efforts to address increasing demand for automotive digital platforms from domestic and international automakers.<\/p>\n

Under the partnership, Tata Electronics will become a manufacturing partner for the automotive modules, integrating with Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 network of global module suppliers.<\/p>\n

The companies plan to support the \u201cMake in India\u201d programme by enabling local production of technologies used in digital cockpits, infotainment systems, connectivity solutions, and intelligent vehicle infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The planned outsourced semiconductor assembly and test facility in Assam represents India\u2019s first domestically owned site of its kind.<\/p>\n

Tata Electronics is investing $3bn in this facility, which will focus on platform technologies such as Wire Bond, Flip Chip, and Integrated Systems Packaging.<\/p>\n

These processes are intended to supply critical components for sectors including automotive, communications, IoT, and AI.<\/p>\n

Qualcomm India senior vice-president and president Savi Soin said: \u201cManufacturing in India through Tata Electronics enhances our ability to support both Indian and global OEMs with greater flexibility and supply chain resilience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Qualcomm Automotive Modules incorporate Snapdragon Digital Chassis system-on-chips alongside other key system elements in a packaged module.<\/p>\n

The design is set up to allow automakers to introduce electronic systems more quickly by simplifying development processes.<\/p>\n

The collaboration seeks to strengthen supply chain flexibility and diversify geographic production locations for modular automotive platforms worldwide.<\/p>\n

Both companies aim to begin manufacturing once the Assam facility becomes operational.<\/p>\n

Tata Electronics CEO and MD Dr Randhir Thakur said: \u201cThis collaboration supports Tata Electronics\u2019 objective to become a global hub for high-technology manufacturing as a trusted partner to our leading semiconductor and automotive customers worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will leverage our Integrated Systems Packaging (ISP) solutions and deliver high quality, high-performance products to support Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 global product leadership.\u201d <\/p>\n
