Pennsylvania Automotive Association has named Raymond Bromley<\/a>, president of Lehman Volvo Cars<\/a> in Mechanicsburg<\/a> and York<\/a>, as the 2026 chairman<\/a> of its board of directors<\/a>. Bromley assumed the role Jan. 1. He takes over the reins from 2025 chair Matt Smith<\/a> of Laurel Auto Group, Johnstown.\n<\/p>\n

\u201cThe vehicle sales industry is critical to Pennsylvania\u2019s economy, which is why it\u2019s so important that the industry works collaboratively with state regulatory agencies to ensure customers have the best car-buying and ownership experience possible. I plan to continue the excellent work of the association and its members to advocate for the franchised dealers that are the bedrock of the communities we serve,\u201d Broney said in a media release.\n<\/p>\n

PAA is a trade organization representing more than 1,000 franchised new car, powersport, and heavy-duty truck dealerships throughout Pennsylvania, according to a media release. It works with the General Assembly and the Governor\u2019s administration to educate policy makers on the concerns of its dealership members.<\/p>\n

\u201cRay is one of the most dedicated dealers I\u2019ve met, and his commitment to the industry will serve him well as PAA\u2019s Chairman,\u201d said Melanie Stine, spokesperson for PAA, and the media release. \u201cThe industry faces challenges that range from affordability of new vehicles to shortages of qualified technicians. We look forward to Ray\u2019s leadership as we work to address these issues.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

Bromley has served on the PAA board of directors for 10 years, most recently in the role of vice chairman, according to the media release. He began his career in the automotive industry in Feb. 1985 at Towbin Chevrolet in Trenton, NJ. He then worked for the Pitcairn Organization, and served as general manager of Cherry Hill Volvo in New Jersey.\n<\/p>\n

In 1997, he became the general manager at Lehman Volvo Saab, and purchased the business from Ken Lehman in January of 2005. The Lehman Motors Automotive Group originated in the 1930s, when Earl B. Lehman began his very first used car business in Lawn, Pennsylvania. Over the next few decades, the business grew to include several automotive franchises, including Volvo Cars. Today, Bromley owns and operates dealerships in Mechanicsburg and York. He also serves on the Retailer Advisory Board for Volvo.<\/p>\n

Bromley has also been a long-time organizer and supporter of the PA Auto Show<\/a> in Harrisburg, serving on the board of the Harrisburg Automotive Trade Association and Auto Show committee, and was president of the association for several years.\n<\/p>\n
