Qualcomm Technologies and Tata Electronics have announced a collaboration to manufacture Qualcomm Automotive Modules in India at Tata\u2019s upcoming semiconductor facility in Assam, aiming to boost domestic production, supply chain resilience and support the transition to software-defined vehicles.<\/p>\n

New Delhi:<\/strong> Qualcomm Technologies and Tata Electronics on Friday announced a collaboration to manufacture \u2018Qualcomm Automotive Modules\u2019 in India at Tata Electronics\u2019 upcoming semiconductor assembly and test facility in Jagiroad, Assam.<\/p>\n

Aligned with the \u2018Make in India\u2019 initiative, the collaboration aims to domestically produce automotive technologies for digital cockpits, infotainment, connectivity, and intelligent vehicle systems.<\/p>\n

Domestic production of these modules aims to address growing demand from Indian and global automakers while enhancing supply chain flexibility and geographic diversification.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith this new cooperation, Tata Electronics joins Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 global network of module manufacturing partners aimed at supporting the growing global demand for modular automotive platforms,\u201d a statement said.<\/p>\n

Qualcomm Automotive Modules integrate the Snapdragon Digital Chassis system\u2011on\u2011chips with e essential system components into a single, production-ready module, delivering comprehensive electronics platforms for automakers, the release said.<\/p>\n

The companies highlighted that simplified system design and accelerated development timelines of these modules will enable scalable, turnkey architectures that support the industry\u2019s transition to software-defined vehicles.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the industry accelerates its shift toward integrated, module-based architectures, expanding manufacturing capacity in key regions becomes essential,\u201d said Nakul Duggal, EVP and Group GM, Automotive, Industrial and Embedded IoT, and Robotics, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy providing comprehensive, ready-to-integrate solutions, we help automakers reduce design complexity and bring next-generation vehicles to market more quickly,\u201d said Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President, Qualcomm India.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing in India through Tata Electronics enhances the company\u2019s ability to support both Indian and global OEMs with greater flexibility and supply chain resilience, Soin added.<\/p>\n

The greenfield, high-volume semiconductor assembly and test facility in Jagiroad is India\u2019s first indigenous OSAT facility \u2014 being built with an investment of $3 billion.<\/p>\n

The facility will focus on crucial platform technologies \u2013 Wire Bond, Flip Chip, and Integrated Systems Packaging (ISP) \u2013 to manufacture products critical for key applications in industries such as automotive, communications, IoT, and AI.<\/p>\n
