Qualcomm<\/a> Technologies and Tata Electronics<\/a> have entered into an agreement to manufacture Qualcomm Automotive Modules<\/a> in Assam, according to a joint statement issued on Friday.<\/p>\n

Under the arrangement, Tata Electronics will become part of Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 global network of module manufacturing partners, a move aimed at catering to rising worldwide demand for modular automotive platforms.

In line with the government\u2019s Make in India initiative, Qualcomm Technologies will produce its Automotive Module products in India at Tata Electronics\u2019 upcoming semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Jagiroad, Assam. The partnership is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities in advanced automotive electronics.<\/p>\n

The collaboration seeks to localise production of automotive technologies used in digital cockpits, infotainment systems, connectivity solutions and intelligent vehicle platforms. It is designed to meet increasing demand from Indian as well as global automakers, while also improving supply chain flexibility and promoting geographic diversification.<\/p>\n

Qualcomm Automotive Modules combine the Snapdragon Digital Chassis system-on-chips (SoCs) with key system components into a single, production-ready module. These integrated modules provide automakers with comprehensive electronics platforms and support scalable, turnkey architectures that facilitate the industry\u2019s transition towards software-defined vehicles.<\/p>\n


Nakul Duggal, EVP and Group GM, Automotive, Industrial and Embedded IoT, and Robotics at Qualcomm Technologies, said the partnership with Tata Electronics represents a significant step in the company\u2019s automotive growth strategy. He noted that as the sector moves rapidly towards integrated, module-based architectures, expanding manufacturing capacity in strategically important regions is becoming increasingly critical.
Savi Soin, Senior Vice President and President of Qualcomm India, said manufacturing in India through Tata Electronics would strengthen the company\u2019s ability to serve both Indian and global original equipment manufacturers with enhanced flexibility and greater supply chain resilience.Randhir Thakur, CEO and MD of Tata Electronics, said the collaboration aligns with the company\u2019s ambition to emerge as a global hub for high-technology manufacturing and to serve as a trusted partner for leading semiconductor and automotive customers worldwide.<\/p>\n

He added that Tata Electronics would deploy its Integrated Systems Packaging (ISP) capabilities to deliver high-quality, high-performance products in support of Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 global product leadership.<\/p>\n
