Datec (Fiji) Pte Limited has officially launched the Fiji Tech Summit 2026, marking the fifth consecutive year of the regional technology platform aimed at strengthening digital collaboration and resilience across Fiji and the wider Pacific.<\/p>\n

The launch was held today at Datec\u2019s head office at Garden City in Suva, where the theme \u201cBringing the Pacific Together\u201d was unveiled.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the event, Datec Head of ICT and Innovation and Fiji Tech Summit Lead, Ronald Sharma, said the Summit comes at a critical time as organisations navigate rapid technological change and growing global constraints.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Fiji Tech Summit enters its fifth year, our focus is on building collective digital resilience across the Pacific. While artificial intelligence is accelerating innovation, it is also placing pressure on global technology supply, infrastructure capacity and skills availability,\u201d Mr Sharma said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

He noted that AI-driven demand for advanced infrastructure and specialised hardware is already resulting in longer lead times and rising costs for Pacific markets, making regional cooperation and strategic planning increasingly important.<\/p>\n

Cybersecurity will be a central focus of the 2026 Summit, with AI-enabled threats increasing risks for organisations and economies. Responsible AI adoption, governance, ethics, data protection, workforce readiness, and emerging technologies such as robotics and automation will also feature prominently.<\/p>\n

\n

\u201cCybersecurity is no longer just a technical issue. It is a leadership and resilience issue that involves people, processes and preparedness,\u201d Mr Sharma added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The Fiji Tech Summit 2026 will be held on 12\u201313 November 2026 at the InterContinental Resort and Spa Natadola, bringing together more than 350 delegates and 25 global technology vendors from Fiji and across the Pacific.<\/p>\n
