The Nigerian government will officially roll out a digital trade platform for air and sea cargo in March 2026, the Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) confirmed.<\/span><\/p>\n

FAAN<\/a> said its Directorate of Cargo Development and Services, working with the National Single Window (NSW) team, had recently met with key stakeholders to announce the planned launch. <\/span><\/p>\n

The agency explained that the Finance Ministry instructed cargo airline operators to begin submitting their manifests through the National Single Window platform in preparation for the rollout.<\/span> <\/p>\n

Henry Agbebire, FAAN\u2019s Director of Public Affairs, told reporters that the platform would not be limited to air cargo alone, noting that it would cover seaports as well. <\/span><\/p>\n

He described the system as a comprehensive tool designed to integrate all stakeholders across Nigeria\u2019s cargo and trade sectors, ensuring smoother operations and greater transparency.<\/span><\/p>\n

The digital initiative builds on the National Single Window project, which President Bola Tinubu<\/a> inaugurated in April 2024. <\/span><\/p>\n

At the time, the president said the system would address bureaucratic bottlenecks and corruption at ports, improve revenue collection, and boost trade efficiency.<\/span><\/p>\n

He projected that the platform could generate about $2.7 billion annually for Nigeria.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to FAAN, training sessions will be conducted ahead of the launch to ensure stakeholders can fully adopt and utilise the platform effectively. <\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier, Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, had indicated that the system was expected to go live in the first quarter of 2026.<\/span><\/p>\n
