The federal government will officially launch the digital
\ntrade platform for air and sea cargo in March 2026.<\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

In a post on X on Tuesday, the Federal Aviation Authority of
\nNigeria (FAAN) said the directorate of cargo development and services, in
\ncollaboration with the national single window (NSW) team, recently engaged key
\nstakeholders and announced the planned rollout date.<\/p>\n

\nin collaboration with the @NSW_Nigeria team, recently engaged with key
\nstakeholders and announced that the Digital Trade Platform is scheduled for
\nlaunch in March 2026,\u201d the post reads.<\/p>\n

\u201cDuring the engagement, all cargo airline operators were
\ndirected by the Honourable Minister of Finance to submit their air cargo
\nmanifests through the National Single Window (NSW) platform in preparation for
\nthe official launch.\u201d<\/p>\n

The authority said training sessions will be conducted ahead
\nof the rollout to ensure smooth adoption and effective utilisation of the
\nsystem.<\/p>\n

Speaking to TheCable on Wednesday, Henry Agbebire, director
\nof public affairs at FAAN, said the digital platform is not limited to cargo
\noperations alone, adding that it covers both air and seaports.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On April 16, 2024, President Bola Tinubu inaugurated the
\nnational single window project to boost trade in Nigeria.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The national single window is an electronic portal linking
\nall agencies and players in import and export processes to an integrated
\nplatform.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Tinubu said the project is projected to generate about $2.7
\nbillion annually for the country.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The president noted that the platform would tackle red tape,
\nbureaucratic bottlenecks, delays and corruption at the ports, curb revenue
\nleakages and enhance trade efficiency.<\/p>\n

On February 3, Abubakar Dantsoho, managing director (MD) of
\nthe Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), said the national single window will go
\nlive by end of 2026 first quarter;<\/p>\n
