HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – A shipping barge belonging to freight company Young Brothers was delayed Tuesday due to weather conditions.<\/p>\n

Ha\u2019aheo, the barge, was scheduled to arrive at the Port of Kawaihae by Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

Due to \u201csevere ocean conditions caused by near-gale force winds,\u201d the cargo\u2019s arrival was delayed, said Young Brothers in a letter to customers.<\/p>\n

The port extended its gate hours until 5 p.m. for customer convenience. Only straightload containers, or those that can be collected without extra handling, will be available for pickup.<\/p>\n

Dry and refrigerated straightload containers, as well as vehicles and roll-on\/roll-off cargo, are available upon notification.<\/p>\n

Dry palletized and mixed cargo may be picked up Wednesday at 7:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

Refrigerated palletized and loose cargo will be available for collection starting at 8 a.m.<\/p>\n
