It is safe to say that tech education in India has long been restricted by language. Unfortunately, if you don\u2019t speak English, the door to high-end IT skills and toolsets has been shut for many. But in a diverse place like India, where multiple different languages are spoken by everyone, there has always remained a wide gap in the space due to this communication barrier.<\/p>\n

Though it looks like we finally have a company that is looking to solve this big problem. While exploring the India AI Impact Summit 2026, I stumbled across a company called \u2018GUVI\u2019, which stands for \u201cGrab Your Vernacular Imprint\u201d, and they\u2019re solving something which is very much needed. <\/p>\n

They\u2019re looking to aim at ending the language barrier by offering technology content in 20 different native languages spoken across India. As per them, they have already reached 4.5 million learners, proving that code is a universal language even if the instructions are in Hindi, Tamil, or Telugu.<\/p>\n

I had a chance to speak with a few people from the GUVI team, along with one of the co-founders, Mr Bala Murugan, at the summit. Without wasting much time, let\u2019s get into everything that I learned about this innovative ed-tech startup. <\/p>\n

From AI consumption to global innovation<\/h2>\n

To start, I asked Mr Bala a question regarding AI and that too on how exactly AI is being integrated into GUVI\u2019s products.<\/p>\n

And to which Mr Bala replied, \u201cIn India, we are right now more into the consumption mode of AI. But ideally, we want to nurture the builders and innovators who can actually come and build products for the rest of the world. So GUVI is more, as we are into the skilling; our role is to make sure that no one is left behind.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Furthermore, he also explained that, \u201cYou should make the learning accessible. So people should have the right quality contents in the way that they can understand and they can implement it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Under the hood of the AI powering GUVI<\/h2>\n

One of my questions revolved more around the tech side of things. Many might be familiar with Gemini or ChatGPT APIs; and I wanted to understand what specific AI technology is powering GUVI. I asked them if they are using existing models or if they are using any proprietary models.<\/p>\n

To which a spokesperson from the product team replied that they utilise both proprietary models and existing LLMs like OpenAI and Gemini, which they fine-tune based on their usage. As per him, they even use internal RAGs (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) for product documentation to help their internal teams. <\/p>\n

While for their consumers, the students, they\u2019ve built something called as \u2018ZenGPT\u2019, which allows the students to ask questions about a three-hour live session recording. The AI gives exact timelines and answers, so they don\u2019t have to watch the entire video again.<\/p>\n

Are we going to lose jobs due to AI?<\/h2>\n

As a startup founder for an AI company, I also wanted to understand Mr Bala\u2019s insights on what he thinks about AI in the workplace. While many consider AI to be a direct threat to many jobs, Mr Bala\u2019s thoughts were different. Along with that, he also shared a very important tip to anyone looking to build a career in the AI space.  <\/p>\n

\u201cI would say it will push us to get into better jobs.\u201d<\/em> He further suggested that, \u201cThere are a lot of jobs which are redundant, which are mundane, or which are not worthy for someone of human potential to solve,\u201d <\/em>As per him, \u201cThose things can be replaced by AI, and the humans can actually go and get into the better things for the benefit of the society.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Building a career in AI in 2026<\/h2>\n

Last but not least, Mr Bala also shared his insights on how one builds a career in the ever-evolving AI space. As per him, we shouldn\u2019t fear AI as something \u201cbig\u201d or a barrier. Rather, it should be looked at as just another tool to help you achieve your vision. As per him, \u201cIf you use it the right way, it can benefit every individual. Use it as a tool, not a hurdle.\u201d<\/p>\n
