DB Cargo UK has worked with Rail Operations Group to test a Class 93 locomotive on an intermodal service, as the freight operator explores future options.<\/p>\n

93006 hauled a Peel Ports service from Seaforth in Merseyside to Mossend in Glasgow and return on the 10th February.<\/p>\n

Class 93s can use overhead lines, diesel power or a battery for use on non-electrified lines.<\/p>\n

Further trials are planned as part of DB\u2019s ongoing review into its future fleet investment strategy.<\/p>\n

The trial of the Class 93 was conducted as part of an ongoing review of our future fleet investment strategy, and we were impressed with its performance.<\/p>\n
