Whitehorse Secondary School recieves Teen Tech for Tomorrow grant<\/h2>\n

Yukon\u2019s Porter Creek Secondary School is the recipient of one of Canada\u2019s Best Buy Teen Tech for Tomorrow Grants, an initiative that aims to empower youth through technology.<\/p>\n

The 2025 recipients received $150,000 in funding, which was divided among 18 schools and robotic teams across the country. Porter Creek Secondary School was one of them.<\/p>\n

Teen Tech Grant awards up to $10,000 to secondary schools to provide essential educational technology for students in Grades 8-12. Recipients also join the Best Buy Teen Tech Network, gaining access to additional resources and opportunities.<\/p>\n

In partnership with Dell, the Teen Tech Teams support high school robotics teams with $5,000 and an Alienware gaming laptop, allowing them to compete at the highest levels after purchasing materials and equipment.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiving back to our communities is at the heart of what we do,\u201d said Karen Arsenault, head of social impact and sustainability for Best Buy Canada. \u201cThe Teen Tech for Tomorrow program means so much to us because it allows us to help level the playing field for Canadian teens, opening doors to new opportunities and helping to ensure every student has the chance to reach their full potential. We are always inspired by the applications we receive and proud to support the journeys of the students.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since 2008, Best Buy has awarded more than $4 million in grants to over 300 Canadian public schools, supporting upgrades to classroom technology and helping students unlock new possibilities.<\/p>\n

In 2024, the Teen Tech for Tomorrow program was launched to further address tech equity for Canadian teens, focusing on providing greater access to technology and training for students in Grades 8 to 12.<\/p>\n
