Shares of Rivian Automotive Inc. jumped 14% to $16 during after-hours trading after it predicted 2026 deliveries will rise to between 62,000 and 67,000, a possible 47% to 59% rise from 42,247 delivered in 2025. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Irvine-based Rivian, with a market cap of $17 billion, said the first R2s deliveries are expected to begin in the second quarter. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2025 we focused on execution as we laid the foundation for dramatically scaling our business,\u201d Founder and Chief Executive RJ Scaringe said in a statement. \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly exciting to see the early strong reviews of the R2 pre-production builds, and we can\u2019t wait to get them to our customers next quarter.\u201d <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The company reported fourth quarter fell 31% to $1.3 billion, which still topped analysts\u2019 consensus of $1.27 billion (Nasdaq: RIVN).  <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

The sales decline was attributed to the expiration of tax credits and a decline in regulatory credit sales.  <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
