Valmet Automotive and Jeti Industries have signed a preliminary agreement for serial production of modular electric buses at Valmet Automotive\u2019s plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland. If finalised, the deal would mark the first time electric buses for city and regional transport are produced in the Nordic countries under a contract manufacturing model.<\/p>\n
The agreement aligns with Valmet Automotive\u2019s strategy, announced in September 2025, to offer its production expertise to industries beyond passenger car manufacturing. The Finnish contract manufacturer said the project leverages its experience in electrification, production infrastructure, and quality systems.<\/p>\n

Jeti Industries has developed a modular electric bus product line designed for public transport applications. The company said the buses are type-approved for EU use and have been piloted in real-world conditions, with the first unit entering service in 2020.<\/p>\n
Pasi Rannus, Chief Executive of Valmet Automotive, said: \u201cGiven our history in car manufacturing, producing zero-emission electric buses for next-generation mobility is a logical step for us and a continuation of our long-standing expertise in manufacturing electric vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n
Niko Andersson, Chief Executive of Jeti Industries, added: \u201cThe electrification of European bus transport is progressing very rapidly, and there is a clear need in the market for electric buses manufactured in Europe.\u201d<\/p>\n
