PanARMENIAN.Net<\/strong> – As part of the Armenia\u2013U.S. Technology and Innovation Summit and the official visit of the U.S. Vice President, Minister of High-Tech Industry Mkhitar Hayrapetyan met with representatives of Amazon Web Services (AWS). The discussion focused on expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and satellite communications, with emphasis on enhancing Armenia\u2019s technological sovereignty and digital resilience. The minister shared details in a Facebook post.<\/p>\n \u201cThis meeting continued the strategic dialogue launched under the earlier Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry and AWS, as well as the August 8, 2025, MoU between the United States and Armenia on cooperation in artificial intelligence and semiconductors. These agreements aim to support the introduction of edge technologies as a driver of Armenia\u2019s economic modernization and resilience,\u201d Hayrapetyan wrote.<\/p>\n The minister noted that progress achieved under existing agreements was reviewed, and both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration, particularly in AI, cloud solutions, and satellite communications.<\/p>\n Special attention was paid to strengthening technological sovereignty and implementing next-generation tech solutions in education, industry, and public services.<\/p>\n \u201cWe reviewed progress made under the MoUs and reaffirmed readiness to deepen cooperation in AI, cloud infrastructure, and satellite communication. Emphasis was placed on boosting Armenia\u2019s tech sovereignty and deploying next-gen solutions across education, industry, and public services,\u201d the post added.<\/p>\n One priority discussed was the continued development of the Artificial Intelligence Virtual Institute (AIVI), where AWS serves as a strategic partner by providing cloud solutions, technical guidance, and capacity-building tools. The institute is expected to act as a platform for applied research, workforce development, and innovation projects aligned with global standards and evolving market needs.<\/p>\n Expanding cooperation in space technologies and satellite connectivity was also a key topic. The parties plan to deepen the use of cloud platforms for secure data transfer, processing, and advanced computing. This is viewed as a foundation for smart infrastructure, remote services, high-tech production, and the country\u2019s national digital resilience.<\/p>\n \u201cWe also focused on the potential to expand cooperation in services based on satellite communication and space technology\u2014leveraging cloud platforms to enable secure connectivity, data processing, and edge computing.
