HII Ingalls<\/span><\/b> shipbuilders placed a second order for Nikon SLM Solutions<\/span><\/a><\/b><\/span>, a unit of Nikon Advanced Manufacturing to its NXG 600E technology for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) metal additive manufacturing. <\/span><\/p>\n

HII Ingalls<\/span><\/b> shipbuilders placed a second order for Nikon SLM Solutions<\/span><\/a><\/b><\/span>, a unit of Nikon Advanced Manufacturing to its NXG 600E technology for laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) metal additive manufacturing. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe order builds on a previously announced NXG 600E acquisition and <\/span>reflects HII\u2019s continued investment in large-format metal additive <\/span>manufacturing to enable production of large, complex components and <\/span>replacement of legacy castings for critical naval applications,\u201d according to a statement from Nikon SLM.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>With close collaboration with HII, Nikon SLM Solutions will lead <\/span>parameter development and process maturation for L-PBF production of NiAlBr components, expanding material capability for additive <\/span>manufacturing within U.S. Navy supply chains and supporting long-term maritime readiness.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span>\u201cThis second NXG 600E order reflects HII\u2019s leadership and long-term <\/span>commitment to advancing the maritime industrial base through additive manufacturing,\u201d said Hamid Zarringhalam, CEO of Nikon Advanced <\/span>Manufacturing and chairman of the board at Nikon SLM Solutions.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cExpanding critical materials capabilities such as Nickel Aluminum Bronze is a <\/span>foundational part of Nikon Advanced Manufacturing\u2019s holistic approach, combining scalable platforms, material and process development, and <\/span>U.S.-based production and support,\u201d said Zarringhalam. \u201cTogether with HII, we are enabling additive manufacturing to move from isolated applications to a repeatable, industrial capability that supports U.S. Navy shipbuilding at scale.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
