ALMATY, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) — Transit freight passing through Kazakhstan increased by 6.6 percent in 2025, reaching 36.9 million tonnes compared with 34.6 million tonnes in 2024, the Kazakh prime minister’s press service said Monday.<\/p>\n
The growth was attributed to the integrated development of road, rail, air and maritime transport, as well as continued efforts to expand international cooperation in the logistics sector.<\/p>\n
Rail freight totaled 320 million tonnes in 2025, up 5.5 percent year on year, while maritime cargo volumes reached 8 million tonnes, exceeding the 2024 level by 7 percent, the statement said.<\/p>\n
