Californians could get instant rebates on electric vehicle purchases under Gov. Gavin Newsom\u2019s $200 million plan, which would require automakers to match state incentives dollar-for-dollar.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The plan, which the Legislature must still approve, lays out for the first time how the governor plans to steer a California-specific rebate program to bolster a slowing electric car market after the Trump administration cancelled federal incentives last year.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
