Adani Ports<\/a> and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) handled 44.8 million metric tonnes (MMT) of cargo in January 2026, marking a 12 per cent year-on-year increase, the company said on Monday in its monthly operational update.<\/p>\n

The growth was led by higher container, liquid and dry cargo volumes during the month.<\/p>\n

Container cargo rose 16 per cent year on year in January, while liquid cargo increased 21 per cent and dry cargo grew 8 per cent. Of the total cargo handled during the month, 3.4 MMT came from NQXT cargo.<\/p>\n

Logistics rail volumes for January stood at 59,308 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs), up 3 per cent from a year earlier. GPWIS volumes were reported at 1.9 MMT, remaining flat on a year-on-year basis.<\/p>\n

For the period from April to January of the current financial year, APSEZ handled a total of 412.2 MMT of cargo, an increase of 11 per cent compared with the same period last year.<\/p>\n

The company said the year-to-date growth was driven primarily by containers, which rose 18 per cent year on year.<\/p>\n

Logistics rail volumes during the year-to-date period reached 588,179 TEUs, registering a 10 per cent increase. GPWIS volumes for the same period stood at 18 MMT, unchanged from the previous year, the company said.<\/p>\n
