The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is so huge that it\u2019s easy to miss a lot of really cool stuff, and sometimes you stumble on something unexpected. For instance, I rounded a corner and minutes later was sitting in a car singing karaoke at the top of my lungs. The unexpected was never far away. So here are some of the most interesting innovations I came across in the Central and West Halls of CES 2026.<\/p>\n

An Autonomous Boat<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Sea Ray SLX 360<\/a>, from Brunswick, debuted at CES, is a 38-foot cruising yacht powered by triple Mercury 300 Verado V8 outboards, for a total of 900 horsepower. Think three miles to the gallon. Both Sea Ray and Mercury are Brunswick brands, and Autoweek<\/em> sat down with CEO Dave Foulkes to learn more about the new craft, especially it\u2019s auto-docking feature. <\/p>\n

\u201cSix stereo cameras map the Sea Ray\u2019s environment via a NVIDIA processor,\u201d Foulkes said. \u201cAnd it can then analyze the wind, wave, and current situation, plot a course to the desired destination, then go through the docking procedure. There is six degrees of freedom in the marine environment affecting the boat\u2019s movement, so it\u2019s challenging.\u201d<\/p>\n

Foulkes says that the AI-powered system can be taught to avoid specific obstacles, from other boats and swimmers to buoys and manatees. It uses 360-degree vision and edge computing, and is right in line with the virtual anchor\u2014which holds the boat\u2019s position without having to throw a heavy piece of metal over the side. <\/p>\n
