Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has kicked off calendar year 2026 on a strong note, reporting total sales of 33,880 units in January 2026, marking a 15 per cent year-on-year growth compared to the 29,371 units sold in January 2025. The performance underscores sustained customer demand across Toyota\u2019s core product portfolio and the brand\u2019s steady momentum in both domestic and export markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Of the total volume, 30,630 units were sold in the domestic market, registering a robust 17 per cent growth over the 26,178 units sold in January last year. Exports stood at 3,250 units, up marginally from 3,193 units in the corresponding period, reflecting a 2 per cent increase. <\/p>\n

Commenting on the performance, Sabari Manohar, Executive Vice President \u2013 Sales, Service and Used Car Business, Toyota Kirloskar Motor, said the year has begun on an \u201cencouraging note\u201d, supported by customer trust in Toyota\u2019s focus on quality, safety and sustainability.<\/p>\n

A key highlight for the month was the launch of the all-electric Urban Cruiser Ebella<\/a>, marking Toyota\u2019s latest step towards future-ready mobility solutions in India. According to the company, the new electric SUV strengthens Toyota\u2019s value proposition while aligning with India\u2019s broader transition towards carbon neutrality and sustainable mobility.<\/p>\n

Toyota\u2019s India operations continue to be backed by a diversified product portfolio spanning MPVs, SUVs, pickups and hybrids. Locally manufactured models include the Innova HyCross, Innova Crysta, Fortuner and Legender at the company\u2019s first plant in Bidadi, Karnataka, which has an installed capacity of 1.32 lakh units per annum. The second plant, operational since December 2010 at the same location, produces the Camry Hybrid, Urban Cruiser Hyryder and Hilux, with a capacity of 2.10 lakh units, taking Toyota Kirloskar Motor\u2019s total installed production capacity to 3.42 lakh units annually.<\/p>\n

In addition, Toyota retails models such as the Glanza, Rumion and Urban Cruiser Taisor, while premium offerings like the Vellfire luxury MPV and Land Cruiser 300 are brought into India as completely built units (CBUs).<\/p>\n

Toyota Kirloskar Motor is jointly owned by Toyota Motor Corporation of Japan (89 per cent) and Kirloskar Systems Limited of India (11 per cent). The company employs 6,466 people and operates on a land parcel of approximately 432 acres in Karnataka.<\/p>\n

With a strong start to 2026, expanding electrification efforts and consistent demand for its hybrid and SUV portfolio, Toyota Kirloskar Motor appears well-positioned to build further momentum in the Indian automotive market over the coming months.<\/p>\n
