Maersk<\/a> has opened a new ground freight <\/a>facility in Fontana, expanding its trucking <\/a>and distribution operations in Southern California.<\/p>\n

The new 165,000-square-foot hub, located in the Inland Empire, is designed to speed up regional freight and provide customers more reliable options for moving goods in and out of the area. Maersk says the site can cut turnaround times by up to five hours, thanks to its central location and direct access to major transportation <\/a>corridors.<\/p>\n

The Fontana facility operates 24\/7 and includes 22 dock doors and a fleet of 18 vehicles. It sits near Interstates 10 and 15, close to Ontario International Airport, and within reach of regional rail <\/a>connections, making it a key link for both regional and interstate freight.<\/p>\n

Maersk says the new site also connects directly with its larger Inland Empire contract logistics<\/a> campus, giving customers access to additional warehousing and distribution services as volumes grow. The Fontana hub joins Maersk\u2019s existing ground freight locations across California, including sites in Sacramento, San Francisco, San Diego, and Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Beyond operations, Maersk says the Fontana team is working with local organizations to support families and individuals in the community, continuing the company\u2019s focus on local engagement alongside network growth.<\/p>\n

The new facility is part of Maersk\u2019s broader push to build out its North American ground network. The company now operates more than 65 Ground Freight facilities across the region, aiming to give customers a single, connected network for trucking, warehousing, and global transportation.<\/p>\n
