TAP Air Cargo<\/span><\/span> has taken a further step in modernising its freight offering with the launch of TAP Secure Track, a premium cargo tracking solution aimed at improving transparency, security and operational oversight across the supply chain.<\/p>\n

The new service allows customers to monitor shipments in real time while maintaining a detailed digital record of events throughout the journey. Designed as an optional add-on, TAP Secure Track provides continuous visibility from origin to destination, supporting faster intervention when irregularities occur.<\/p>\n

At the core of the service is a combination of GPS technology and advanced Internet of Things (IoT) sensors. These single-use devices continuously capture data on a shipment\u2019s location, temperature, light exposure and physical impacts, transmitting information throughout the entire transport cycle.<\/p>\n

Shippers can also configure automated email alerts, triggered when predefined thresholds are breached \u2013 such as temperature deviations, unexpected movement, shock events or unauthorised package opening.<\/p>\n

Each sensor is uniquely identified and placed directly inside the cargo, enabling end-to-end tracking of individual consignments.<\/p>\n

According to TAP Air Cargo, this approach helps reduce losses linked to cold chain failures, misrouted shipments and security incidents, while also supporting compliance requirements in tightly regulated sectors.<\/p>\n

The airline says the service has been developed primarily with industries such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, electronics and other high-value or temperature-sensitive goods in mind, where shipment integrity and data-backed accountability are critical.<\/p>\n

Rita Ros\u00e1rio Garcia of TAP<\/a> Air Cargo, said: \u201cOur customers are looking not only for speed, but also for transparency, reliability and trust.
