Daehan Shipbuilding said on Jan. 29 that it has secured orders for six out of the 11 Suezmax vessels placed worldwide so far this year.<\/p>\n

The company said a day earlier that it secured an order from a European shipping company for two Suezmax-class crude oil tankers worth 250 billion won, or approximately $175 million. The vessels are scheduled for sequential delivery in January 2029 and May 2029. This latest deal follows an order secured earlier this month for four vessels of the same class, bringing the shipbuilder\u2019s total orders this year to six vessels.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe order rally since the start of the new year has allowed us to preemptively secure work,\u201d a company official stated. \u201cWith an order backlog of approximately 30 vessels, we have now secured a stable construction volume equivalent to about three years of work.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jin Ki-bong, head of sales at Daehan Shipbuilding, said that among global shipping companies, the proportion of repeat orders from existing shipowners has been steadily increasing, adding that the company plans to further strengthen its dominant position in the Suezmax market based on the deep trust it has built with its regular shipping clients.<\/p>\n
