Lufthansa Cargo will soon offer scheduled Airbus A321 passenger to freighter (P2F) flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and Rome-Fiumicino (FCO) and FRA and Houari Boumediene International Airport (ALG) in Algiers.<\/p>\n

From 7 February, FRA to FCO flights will operate once a week on Saturdays, with flight number LH8344. Previously, Lufthansa Cargo added a A321P2F FRA-FCO winter freighter flight<\/a> to help manage peak season volumes.<\/p>\n

The route continues from FCO to Istanbul (IST) and the Lufthansa Cargo hub in Munich (MUC). Since December, FCO, the newest Lufthansa Cargo hub, has been served by A321P2Fs on an ad hoc basis to meet high demand. <\/p>\n

ITA Airways also offers additional cargo capacities from FCO, via road feeder service or with its own freighters.<\/p>\n

Rome-headquartered ITA Airways has officially been part of the Lufthansa Group since the beginning of 2025. Lufthansa Cargo started marketing the cargo capacities on ITA Airways routes<\/a> and added Rome as its fifth hub in June.<\/p>\n

Additionally, from 10 February, Algiers airport (ALG) will be added to Lufthansa Cargo’s flight schedule. Flights will operate every Tuesday under flight number LH8308. <\/p>\n

In addition to Beirut, Casablanca, Cairo, Yerevan, Tel Aviv, and Tunis, customers can now book direct freighter connections to a total of seven destinations in the Middle East and Africa.<\/p>\n

“We are delighted to be able to offer our customers an expanded short- and medium-haul cargo network and even greater connectivity right at the start of the year,” said Ashwin Bhat, chief executive of Lufthansa Cargo.<\/p>\n

“With new destinations in its network, Lufthansa Cargo continues to pave the way for faster, reliable and more flexible logistics across the continent for our customers in line with our purpose \u2018Enabling Global Business\u2019.<\/p>\n

“With five European hubs and a wide range of transport options, we can also adapt our network at short notice to respond to changes to the flow of goods or offer our customers solutions in the event of unforeseen circumstances.”<\/p>\n

The airline’s short- and medium-haul network comprises a total of 22 destinations, which are served by a fleet of four A321P2Fs.<\/p>\n

In addition, 18 Boeing 777 freighters in the long-haul fleet and belly cargo capacity from Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, ITA Airways, and SunExpress complement Lufthansa Cargo’s global route network.<\/p>\n
