JSW MG Motor India<\/a> has launched Season 6.0 of the MG Developer Program<\/a> & Grant (MGDP) in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT<\/a>), aiming to support start-ups working on next-generation mobility solutions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The sixth edition will focus on the theme \u2018Innovation in Automobile\u2019 and is expected to encourage innovation in areas such as logistics and supply chain, AI in automotive, V2X intelligence<\/a>, sustainability and circular economy, vehicle technology, connected services, EV charging infrastructure, and manufacturing.<\/p>\n

Applications for MGDP Season 6.0 opened on March 26 and closed on April 30, 2026. The programme\u2019s Demo Day has been scheduled for June 1, 2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cInnovation remains the cornerstone of JSW MG Motor India\u2019s vision for India, and we remain committed to nurturing this value through multiple initiatives. This new edition of MGDP aims to empower ambitious start-ups working across new energy, autonomous, and connected mobility technologies,\u201d said Anurag Mehrotra, Managing Director, JSW MG Motor India.<\/p>\n

Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, DPIIT<\/a>, said the department is committed to fostering collaboration and encouraging India-specific innovation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are delighted to partner with JSW MG Motor India for the new season of MGDP. This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to nurturing India\u2019s future workforce and fostering a culture of practical problem-solving,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to the company, shortlisted teams will receive mentorship from JSW MG Motor India and ecosystem partners, access to development support and testing opportunities, along with potential grant assistance based on jury evaluation.<\/p>\n

MGDP was launched in 2019 and has received over 1,550 entries across its first five seasons, with more than 290 teams shortlisted in the first round. The company said over 100 experts have participated as mentors so far, and 51 start-ups have been shortlisted to date for pilot projects under the programme.<\/p>\n

The entries for Season 6.0 will be evaluated by a jury comprising senior industry leaders and experts from corporates, academic institutions and industry bodies, based on uniqueness and real-world applicability.<\/p>\n
