{"id":135111,"date":"2026-03-25T18:44:44","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T21:44:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tech.einnews.com\/article\/901733179"},"modified":"2026-03-25T18:44:44","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T21:44:44","slug":"ole-scheeren-reveals-latest-project-for-tech-giant-tencent","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new7.shop\/zerocostfreehost\/index.php\/2026\/03\/25\/ole-scheeren-reveals-latest-project-for-tech-giant-tencent\/","title":{"rendered":"Ole Scheeren reveals latest project for tech giant Tencent"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"gallery storyGallery inlineGallery\" data-gallery-caption=\"hide\"><button class=\"show-fullscreen\" data-url=\"\/attachment?storycode=5141490&amp;attype=G&amp;atcode=2026896&amp;gallery=6796\">Full screen in popup<\/button><\/div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ole Scheeren has revealed plans for an art museum in Shenzhen designed for the founder of Chinese tech giant Tencent.<\/p>\n<p>The R\u00f3ng Museum of Art will form the cornerstone of the Houhai Hybrid Campus, a city centre commercial district which has also been designed by Scheeren\u2019s practice B\u00fcro Ole Scheeren.<\/p>\n<p>Both the museum and the campus are currently under construction, with the former set to complete first in early 2027 before the wider campus completes later in the year.<\/p>\n<p>It is the latest in a string of major commercial projects designed by the German architect in south China\u2019s biggest city, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bdonline.co.uk\/news\/ole-scheeren-beats-star-names-in-competition-to-design-hq-for-chinas-biggest-company\/5126752.article\" target=\"_blank\">huge headquarters building for Tencent<\/a> on a separate office campus on Qianhai Bay.<\/p>\n<p>The museum, which is named after the Chinese character for \u201csymbiosis\u201d and \u201cintegration\u201d, will focus on displaying visual culture of the 20th and 21st century.<\/p>\n<p>Scheeren said the scheme reflects a growing ambition among China\u2019s most successful technology entrepreneurs to contribute to public life and cultural infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat is significant is that the founder of Tencent, one of China\u2019s most successful innovation businesses, is using his company\u2019s position at the forefront of China\u2019s tech industry to open new ground for culture and urban development,\u201d the architect said.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cAround the world, most tech environments are relentlessly self\u2011focused.
