US President Donald Trump<\/a> has appointed prominent tech leaders of Silicon Valley giants to his top technology advisory board. The report said that the White House has appointed Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg<\/a>, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang and Oracle Executive Chairman Larry Ellison, among others, to join the President\u2019s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), which is tasked with advising the administration on AI policy, national security and emerging technologies.<\/span><\/p>\n

The report (via news agency Reuters) says that an initial batch of 13 appointees have been shortlisted, and the group represents a massive collection of tech power and wealth. Beyond Zuckerberg, Huang, and Ellison, the list includes: Sergey Brin, Co-founder of Google<\/a> and Lisa Su, CEO of AMD.<\/span>The council is co-chaired by David Sacks, the White House AI and crypto czar, and Michael Kratsios, the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.<\/p>\n

The council\u2019s primary focus is intensifying technological competition with China. As Chinese companies rapidly advance their AI capabilities, the Trump administration is looking to private industry leaders to help streamline US regulations and accelerate innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n

Established by Executive Order, PCAST brings together the Nation\u2019s foremost luminaries in science and technology to advise the President and provide recommendations on strengthening American leadership in science and technology.<\/span><\/span><\/span>The Council will be co-chaired by David Sacks and Michael Kratsios.<\/span><\/span><\/span>The following individuals have been appointed:<\/span><\/span><\/span>Marc Andreessen<\/span><\/span>Sergey Brin<\/span><\/span>Safra Catz<\/span><\/span>Michael Dell<\/span><\/span>Jacob DeWitte<\/span><\/span>Fred Ehrsam<\/span><\/span>Larry Ellison<\/span><\/span>David Friedberg<\/span><\/span>Jensen Huang<\/span><\/span>John Martinis<\/span><\/span>Bob Mumgaard<\/span><\/span>Lisa Su<\/span><\/span>Mark Zuckerberg<\/span><\/span><\/span>Under President Trump, PCAST will focus on topics related to the opportunities and challenges that emerging technologies present to the American workforce, and ensuring all Americans thrive in the Golden Age of Innovation.<\/span><\/span><\/span>PCAST may be composed of up to 24 members.
