Mobileye<\/a>, an Israel-headquartered autonomous driving company, on Tuesday said it has secured a new production programme with a leading US automaker to integrate its Driver Monitoring System (DMS)<\/a> into future vehicles, with start of production targeted for 2027.<\/p>\n

According to the official press release, the system will be deployed in vehicles equipped with Mobileye\u2019s EyeQ6L<\/a> system-on-chip, expanding the scope of an existing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS)<\/a> programme. The company said the deployment is expected to cover millions of vehicles across multiple models and model years.<\/p>\n

Mobileye\u2019s in-cabin sensing platform combines both driver monitoring (DMS) and occupant monitoring (OMS), running alongside ADAS perception on a single chip. The integrated system is designed to assess driver attention in real time by correlating gaze and engagement with road conditions, rather than relying solely on in-cabin signals.<\/p>\n

The new programme builds on earlier wins where Mobileye\u2019s DMS and OMS were integrated into EyeQ6H-based SuperVision and Surround ADAS platforms for a global automaker, reflecting increasing OEM demand for consolidated safety and driver-assistance systems.<\/p>\n

The company noted that as hands-off driving features expand beyond premium vehicles, ensuring driver engagement remains critical for safety. Its system is designed to reduce false alerts and improve intervention accuracy by detecting whether drivers are attentive to real-world conditions.<\/p>\n

The platform is also aligned with evolving global safety standards, including upcoming Euro NCAP requirements. It is expected to support 2026 rating protocols and future enhancements that may shift focus from basic eye tracking to more advanced driver engagement detection.<\/p>\n
