Image Credit: BAR<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p> Wind-assisted propulsion is increasingly being viewed as a tool to manage fuel risk in global shipping, as operators face sustained volatility in energy markets, according to <strong>BAR&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Technologies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> Shipowners are reassessing fuel strategies amid geopolitical tensions, infrastructure disruptions and fluctuating fuel availability, the wind propulsion firm said in an email statement on <strong>Friday<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p> Alongside this, dual-fuel vessels are taking on a broader commercial role.<\/p>\n<p> Once seen primarily as a bridge to lower emissions, they are now being used to provide operational flexibility, allowing operators to switch between fuels depending on price, availability and route dynamics.<\/p>\n<p> \u201cWind won\u2019t replace fuel, but it changes the risk profile,\u201d <strong>John Cooper<\/strong>, CEO of BAR Technologies, said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"breakout pull-quote\">\n<div class=\"quote\">\n<p>\u201c<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p> Wind won&#8217;t replace fuel, but it changes the risk profile<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span class=\"attrib\"><cite>John Cooper<\/cite><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p> \u201cIf part of your energy input isn\u2019t bought on the market, you\u2019re less exposed.
