Port Klang Authority general manager Captain K Subramaniam told <em>The Business Times<\/em> that the port was operating normally with no sign of congestion or disruption. But the Malaysia Shipowners\u2019 Association (Masa) said that ships were already rerouting, vessel stays were lengthening, and <a class=\"text-verticals-btblue underline\" data-testid=\"article-annotation-link-component\" href=\"https:\/\/www.businesstimes.com.sg\/international\/global\/singapore-tg-pelepas-port-klang-could-face-congestion-middle-east-bound-boxships-capacity-shortage\" target=\"_blank\">ports could face congestion<\/a> in both ships and cargoes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"whitespace-pre-wrap break-words mb-4 md:mb-6\" data-testid=\"article-paragraph-component\">Port Klang and PTP are natural candidates to absorb diverted traffic because both handle substantial Asia-Europe cargo volumes.
