LG Group is strengthening its alliances with global big tech companies such as NVIDIA and Palantir to secure leadership in the next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) market.<\/p>\n

The strategy aims to maximize synergy effects through the \u2018One LG\u2019 strategy, which consolidates affiliate capabilities by building a comprehensive AI ecosystem encompassing manufacturing, robotics, and data centers, going beyond simple technological collaboration.<\/p>\n

According to industry sources on March 16, LG affiliates are collaborating with companies holding global AI dominance to achieve tangible results.<\/p>\n

The most notable area is physical AI, where LG Electronics is developing its own physical AI model based on NVIDIA\u2019s general-purpose humanoid reasoning model \u2018Isaac GR00T.\u2019<\/p>\n

Utilizing NVIDIA\u2019s robot development platform, the company is conducting field demonstrations of intelligent robots and enhancing the sophistication of its robotics technology.<\/p>\n

LG Innotek has also moved to preempt the high-precision camera module market by jointly developing a \u2018vision sensing system\u2019 that serves as the eyes of Boston Dynamics\u2019 next-generation robot \u2018Atlas.\u2019<\/p>\n

In the AI transformation (AX) sector, LG CNS\u2019s collaborative efforts are particularly active.<\/p>\n

LG CNS recently signed a strategic partnership with U.S.-based Palantir Technologies and is supplying Palantir\u2019s enterprise AI platforms \u2018Foundry\u2019 and \u2018AIP\u2019 in forms optimized for Korea\u2019s manufacturing, energy, and logistics industries.<\/p>\n

The LG and big tech alliance is also accelerating the structural improvement of manufacturing sites.<\/p>\n

LG Electronics and LG Display have adopted NVIDIA\u2019s digital twin platform \u2018Omniverse\u2019 and physics-based AI platform \u2018PhysicsNeMo.\u2019<\/p>\n

Through \u2018Omniverse,\u2019 simulations can now be conducted in virtual environments identical to actual factories, while \u2018PhysicsNeMo\u2019 has dramatically reduced the time from product development to mass production.<\/p>\n

LG Innotek has partnered with Intel to implement AI vision inspection solutions across all production processes, reducing product defects to nearly 0%.<\/p>\n

These movements by affiliates are being closely coordinated under the unified \u2018One LG\u2019 strategy.<\/p>\n

A prime example is the \u2018AIDC Tech Show\u2019 held at Microsoft\u2019s U.S. headquarters at the end of last year, attended by major affiliates including LG Electronics, LG Innotek, LG Energy Solution, LG Uplus, and LG CNS.<\/p>\n

At the event, LG showcased its capability to provide all infrastructure necessary for data center operations at once, including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), energy storage systems (ESS), and total power solutions.<\/p>\n

In fact, based on this competitiveness, LG has secured a hyperscale AI data center project worth 100 billion won in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

The AI model \u2018EXAONE,\u2019 developed by LG AI Research, which was established under the leadership of LG Group Chairman Koo Kwang-mo, learns from vast data across affiliates including manufacturing, robotics, and telecommunications, serving as the \u2018brain\u2019 and core engine of the \u2018One LG\u2019 ecosystem.<\/p>\n

An industry insider said, \u201cIn this era of great AI transformation where boundaries between industries are collapsing, companies like LG that possess both hardware and software\u2014from robots, batteries, and sensors to system integration and AI models\u2014are rare,\u201d adding, \u201cThe successive collaborations with global big tech are also the result of LG\u2019s unparalleled manufacturing capabilities and \u2018One LG\u2019 system being recognized.\u201d<\/p>\n
