RUSSELL \u2014 Nex-Tech has made a $75,000 loan to support Bricks Co-Working Hub, a new business and community space in Russell. Bricks will operate open workspaces, office rental, conference room rental, virtual office services, and provide a space for collaboration and creativity in the downtown business district of Russell. The loan was disbursed from the Nex-Tech Revolving Loan Fund, which provides funds to eligible local businesses to create jobs and sustain local socioeconomic activities. This investment will serve the rural communities of northwest Kansas. <\/p>\n

Bricks Hub<\/p>\n

Speaking on the loan support, CEO of Nex-Tech, Jimmy Todd, said, \u201cWe are privileged to once again partner with another local business that will enhance the quality of life in our service footprint. We already serve Russell with world-class fiber broadband and technology solutions; now we are going the extra mile to stimulate economic activities that will benefit the whole community.\u201d<\/p>\n

Located at 602 N Main Street, Russell, Bricks Co-Working Hub is the vision of Dr. Tyrel and Jessica Somers. Dr. Somers, expressing his thoughts on the loan, said, \u201cBricks is excited to offer small business owners and entrepreneurs a home on Main Street in beautiful downtown Russell. We want to thank Nex-Tech for their assistance and the ease of working with them. Our vision would not be possible without their commitment to improving small towns like Russell.\u201d<\/p>\n

The project brought together stakeholders at the Innovation Center, Nex-Tech, and the Somers family to pull resources together and get it across the finish line. Mason Ruder, Business Services Advisor at the Innovation Center, who worked with Somers to develop the business and financial plans said, \u201cThanks to support from Nex-Tech, Bricks is strengthening downtown Russell by providing a vibrant coworking hub that fuels innovation, collaboration, and small business growth right on Main Street.\u201d Mason also added that the investment will not only help to revitalize our historic core, but also build community and economic opportunity across western Kansas.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nex-Tech is a participant in the U.S. Department of Agriculture\u2019s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program (REDLG) through which it supports rural projects and business initiatives that create jobs across the region and contributes to a sustainable local economy.<\/p>\n
