Class of 2026 big man Moustapha Diop<\/a><\/b> has reopened his recruitment, a source informed 247Sports on Friday. Diop was previously committed to Georgia Tech. A 6-foot-10, 215-pound center, Diop is the No. 113-ranked prospect in the 2026 class.<\/p>\n

The Yellow Jackets fired coach Damon Stoudamire<\/a><\/b> March 8 after an 11-20 season, which included a 2-16 mark in the ACC.<\/p>\n

Diop committed to Georgia Tech<\/a><\/b> in November 2024 and signed in 2025. He picked the Yellow Jackets over schools like Auburn<\/a><\/b>, Alabama<\/a><\/b>, Missouri<\/a><\/b>, and Georgia. Diop played his high school ball for Overtime Elite in Atlanta.<\/p>\n

247Sports director of scouting Adam Finkelstein<\/a><\/strong> provided this report on Diop’s game.<\/p>\n

“Diop is a physically gifted big man. He stands at 6-foot-10 with shoes on, has a long 7-foot-2 wingspan, and is a high-level run and jump athlete, particularly for his size. He excels at changing ends of the floor and has immediate value as a rim-runner and lob threat. He’s also cut-up with a frame that should only continue to fill-out and add muscle mass in a college weight room.<\/p>\n

“While Diop has glaring physical tools, he’s older for his grade (turning 19 in November of his senior year) and didn’t produce to the level expected during the recent grassroots season. He averaged 7 points, 5 rebounds, and less than a block per game in 3SSB play. It was the lack of rebounding and shot-blocking that was particularly concerning. He has all the tools to be effective in those areas, as well as enough mobility to eventually have some versatility guarding ball-screens. His offensive game is a known work in progress, so maximizing that defensive impact is critical to both his long-term success and chances to making an immediate impact at the next level.<\/p>\n

“On the other end, he’s shown some growth with his footwork, dexterity, and even has some touch to develop long-term (80% FT in 3SSB play), but his hands are still developing and he can struggle to score at times.”<\/p>\n
