BANGKOK, Thailand<\/em> \u2013 The Royal Thai Navy (RTN) has issued an urgent security advisory to Thai maritime operators, warning of the possible deployment of sea mines in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, and the Strait of Hormuz amid rising regional tensions.<\/p>\n

Royal Thai Navy spokesperson Rear Admiral Paraj Ratanajaipan stated that the Maritime Traffic Control Center issued an updated security notice on March 13, 2026. The advisory urges commercial vessels to exercise maximum caution after a security assessment found a high probability of sea mines in these key shipping lanes.<\/p>\n

\u200bTo ensure the safety of maritime personnel and assets, the Maritime Traffic Control Center recommends that all Thai vessels avoid entering high-risk areas unless absolutely necessary.
