Setco Auto Systems<\/a>, a manufacturer of medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicle clutches, on Saturday said it has partnered with Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur to establish a joint research laboratory aimed at developing next-generation automotive technologies<\/a> and strengthening industry-academia collaboration.<\/p>\n

The facility, inaugurated on March 11 at the VNIT campus, will focus on research in clutch systems, friction materials, performance optimisation and advanced engineering design.<\/p>\n

It will also explore the use of digital engineering tools and emerging technologies such as generative AI<\/a> to accelerate product development.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy integrating academic insight with industry experience and emerging technologies such as Generative AI<\/a>, we can develop smarter and more sustainable solutions for the mobility sector,\u201d said Harish Sheth, CMD, Setco Auto Systems<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The collaboration is expected to enable faculty members, researchers and students to work on industry-relevant engineering challenges alongside company experts, while supporting research in automotive component development.<\/p>\n
