GMR Airports<\/a> Limited on Friday said it received a Letter of Award (LOA) from Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL<\/a>) after emerging as the selected bidder to upgrade, modernise, finance, operate, manage and maintain Cargo Terminal 1<\/a> at the Indira Gandhi International Airport<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The concession will run until 2036 under a revenue-share payment model with DIAL<\/a>. The company expects revenue of about \u20b9340 crore in the first full year of operations.<\/p>\n

The development follows earlier changes to the cargo terminal\u2019s operating arrangement.<\/p>\n

DIAL terminated the existing cargo concession agreement<\/a> with M\/s Celebi on May 15, 2025, after a directive from the Ministry of Civil Aviation, GMR said in a regulatory filing.<\/p>\n

After the termination, the concession was granted to GMR Airports<\/a> on an interim basis to ensure business continuity at the facility.<\/p>\n

DIAL later initiated a competitive bidding process in November 2025 in line with the concession agreement<\/a> with the Airports Authority<\/a> of India. GMR Airports participated in the process and was subsequently identified as the selected bidder after the completion of bidding.<\/p>\n

The company said the concession constitutes a related-party transaction but has been conducted on an arm\u2019s-length basis.<\/p>\n

The company said the promoters or group companies do not have any direct interest in the transaction apart from indirect shareholding in both DIAL and GMR Airports.<\/p>\n
