Brussels Airport handled 63,050 tonnes of cargo in February 2026, an increase of 6.5 percent compared with February 2025, continuing the airport\u2019s positive growth in freight activity.<\/p>\n

The increase was mainly driven by growth in flown cargo, which includes freight transported on both full freighter aircraft and in the belly hold of passenger flights. Express services also recorded strong performance during the month. <\/p>\n

Cargo transported on passenger aircraft continued to contribute significantly to the overall volumes. At the same time, the airport also handled a substantial amount of trucked cargo, which is transported by road to and from other airports but processed through the cargo facilities at Brussels Airport. <\/p>\n

Brussels Airport is one of Europe\u2019s key cargo hubs and specialises in the handling of pharmaceutical products, perishable goods, e-commerce shipments and live animals. The airport hosts a large network of temperature-controlled warehouses that support the transport of sensitive healthcare products.<\/p>\n
