A Sudbury-based medical technology company is one of 14 businesses selected to participate in a national accelerator program hosted by Google.<\/p>\n

Waive Medical<\/a>, which automates routine tasks for medical professionals, has been accepted into the Google for Startups Accelerator: Canada<\/a>, a 10-week program that helps technology startups grow.<\/p>\n

Under the initiative, which is geared toward startups that use artificial intelligence (AI) in their products and services, participants have access to mentorship, training, expert advice, technical and strategic support, and a founders network.<\/p>\n

Waive is the only company on the list from Northern Ontario.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are at a critical juncture as a startup as we continue to scale and grow to hundreds of clinics using our system,\u201d Shreyansh Anand, Waive’s CEO, said in a news release.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo reach the next stage in our journey, we recognize that we need mentorship and support from some of the top product and technical minds. The Google for Startups Accelerator seems perfectly aligned with that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Waive has a number of solutions to help health-care professionals in their practices, including automating administrative tasks, such as filling out medical forms; triaging documents; and appointment notifications for patients.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Waive received $250,000 from the Sudbury Catalyst Fund to help develop the technology. The company was also the Judges\u2019 Choice winner in NORCAT\u2019s 2023 PITCH event in Sudbury.<\/p>\n
