Qualcomm<\/a> Technologies and Wayve<\/a> on Wednesday announced a technical collaboration to develop an advanced driver-assistance and automated-driving system for automakers.<\/p>\n

The collaboration integrates Wayve\u2019s AI Driver software<\/a> with Qualcomm\u2019s Snapdragon Ride Platform and its Active Safety software. The companies said the pre-integrated system is designed to support hands-off driver assistance and could expand to eyes-off automated driving capabilities.<\/p>\n

The platform is intended to support automakers in deploying driver assistance systems and automated driving features across vehicle programmes.<\/p>\n

Wayve AI Driver will be offered as a software option for automakers using the Snapdragon Ride platform. The platform includes system-on-chip processors and software designed to support safety and driver assistance functions.<\/p>\n

According to the companies, the integration aims to simplify the integration of hardware, safety systems, and AI software, allowing automakers to deploy driver assistance systems across vehicle models.<\/p>\n

The companies also said they plan to explore the use of Qualcomm system-on-chip processors in future Level 4 robotaxi applications.<\/p>\n

Anshuman Saxena, Vice President and General Manager, ADAS and Robotics at Qualcomm Technologies, said, “ADAS is where scale, safety, and real-world impact matter most for automakers today. Snapdragon Ride is built to support the widest range of long-term platform strategies, enabling automakers to standardize across programs and regions while retaining flexibility. Together with Wayve, we\u2019re empowering automakers with more choice for how advanced driving systems are developed, deployed, and scaled, while also helping them reduce development cycles, effort and risk.”<\/p>\n

Alex Kendall, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wayve, said, “Wayve AI Driver is designed as a flexible, vehicle-agnostic software that serves as the intelligence layer for autonomy for any vehicle, anywhere. Our collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies provides global automakers building on Snapdragon Ride with a streamlined path to deploy market-leading, end-to-end AI automated driving capability alongside Qualcomm’s Active Safety stack.”<\/p>\n

“By combining our embodied AI driving intelligence with Qualcomm Technologies\u2019 compute performance, platform maturity and global scale, we are expanding choice and delivering immediate value to automakers across ADAS and automated driving systems<\/a>, with natural progression from hands-off to eyes-off operation,” he added.<\/p>\n

Wayve said its AI Driver software<\/a> is trained on real-world driving data and is designed to adapt to different road conditions and driving environments. The Snapdragon Ride platform is designed to support on-device AI processing within a safety-certified system architecture.<\/p>\n
