BAKU, March 9 (Xinhua) — The Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers announced that Azerbaijan and Iran resumed freight transportation across their shared state border on Monday, ending a four-day suspension triggered by drone strikes on Azerbaijan’s Nakhchivan exclave.<\/p>\n
The government announced that the entry and exit of all types of freight vehicles, including those involved in transit, have been restored since 10:00 local time (0600 GMT) on Monday.<\/p>\n
The cabinet imposed the closure on Thursday in response to drone attacks launched from Iranian territory.<\/p>\n
According to Azerbaijani authorities, drones struck several locations, including the terminal building of Nakhchivan International Airport, while another drone fell near a school.<\/p>\n
The incident left several civilians injured and caused damage to the airport infrastructure.
