India\u2019s largest gas distributor, \u200bGAIL<\/a>, has issued a \u200ctender seeking a cargo of liquefied \u200bnatural gas (LNG) \u2060for delivery in March, as the conflict in the Middle East \u200ccurtailed shipping and halted Qatari output.<\/p>\n

GAIL is seeking \u200cthe cargo for \u200cdelivery \u2060on March 15-25 in \u2060a tender that closes March 9, two industry sources said on \u200bMonday.<\/p>\n

Several industries \u200cin India have been impacted by the war as the South Asian nation, \u200cwhich is the world\u2019s \u200bfourth-largest LNG importer, rations supplies.<\/p>\n

GAIL said on Thursday \u2060it would assess curbing supplies to natural gas customers \u200cafter a force majeure notice from long-term supplier Petronet LNG over constraints on vessels.<\/p>\n

Another Indian LNG importer, state-owned Gujarat State Petroleum \u200cCorp (GSPC), last week bought a \u200bcargo for April delivery for above $20 per million \u2060British thermal units (mmBtu), according to \u2060two other industry sources.<\/p>\n
