Prime Minister Jafar Hassan met on Sunday at the Prime Ministry with representatives of international shipping, navigation, and logistics companies. The meeting aimed to discuss the current state of supply chains and explore ways to reduce transport and freight costs amidst regional developments and their impact on trade and supply flows.\u0627\u0636\u0627\u0641\u0629 \u0627\u0639\u0644\u0627\u0646<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister highlighted the vital role of the international shipping and logistics sector in ensuring the seamless flow of goods and enhancing the Kingdom’s resilience against potential supply chain disruptions. He reaffirmed the government\u2019s commitment to coordinating with the private sector to take necessary measures to secure a sufficient and sustainable strategic reserve of essential commodities and energy.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister Hassan noted that the government\u2019s recent proactive decisions are designed to address regional challenges and ensure the continuous availability of supplies.<\/p>\n

For their part, industry representatives emphasized the significance of the government’s recent measures regarding land transport facilitation and sea freight cost exemptions. They noted that these decisions have a direct and significant impact on accelerating the arrival of goods, enhancing the efficiency of supply chains, and diversifying the Kingdom\u2019s supply routes.<\/p>\n

The meeting follows a series of measures approved by the Cabinet last week to mitigate the effects of regional instability. These measures include:<\/p>\n

Temporarily allowing the import of containerized goods through land border crossings.<\/p>\n

Granting exemptions related to the rise in sea freight costs.<\/p>\n

Implementing procedures to ensure the sustainability of supply chains and bolster the strategic stock of food and energy.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by the Minister of Labor, the Minister of Government Communication, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply, and the Minister of State for Economic Affairs. <\/p>\n
