India has also increased crude oil imports from non-Hormuz sources from 60 per cent to around 70 per cent <\/strong><\/p>\n<div id=\"show_first_article_data\">\n<p>Government sources said on Saturday that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mid-day.com\/news\/india-news\/article\/uttar-pradesh-fuel-shortage-rumours-trigger-panic-buying-23619666\" rel=\"nofollow\">petrol<\/a> and diesel prices will not increase, adding that India\u2019s energy stock position is improving and the situation is becoming more stable, reported IANS<\/p>\n<p id=\"firstpara\">According to the sources, the improving energy stock situation has given the government greater confidence in managing fuel supplies.<\/p>\n<p> <button class=\"read-more-btn\" type=\"button\"> Read More <i class=\"fas fa-chevron-down arrow\"><\/i> <\/button> <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<div id=\"show_full_article_data\"><span id=\"photoandwebstorypara_0\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>They added that India has also taken steps to diversify its crude oil imports to reduce dependence on vulnerable routes.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<h2>India cuts Hormuz dependence, crude supply stabilising<\/h2>\n<p><span id=\"photoandwebstorypara_1\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIndia has increased its crude oil imports from sources other than the Strait of Hormuz. Earlier, about 60 per cent of India\u2019s crude oil imports came from sources outside the strategic shipping route, but that share has now increased to around 70 per cent,\u201d they stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first cargo has already started moving through the Strait of Hormuz &#8212; indicating that supply flows are stabilising,\u201d they mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>According to IANS, the clarification from the government came after the opposition political parties alleged that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mid-day.com\/mumbai\/mumbai-news\/article\/mumbai-cng-crisis-gas-supply-to-fuel-stations-to-normalise-by-tuesday-noon-says-mgl-23603665\" rel=\"nofollow\">fuel prices<\/a> could increase.<\/p>\n<p>Responding to the claims, government sources said the allegation was completely baseless.<\/p>\n<p>They said the earlier assurance was specifically related to petrol and diesel prices and was not in reference to LPG.<\/p>\n<h2>No petrol, diesel price hike, govt assures; LPG supply under review<\/h2>\n<p>As per IANS, the sources again reiterated that petrol and diesel prices will not increase.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis was only said for petrol and diesel. It was not in reference to LPG.
