Pilot has partnered with NCR Voyix to modernize its point-of-sale (POS) technology across its network for both retail and commercial fuel solutions, the convenience-store chain announced Thursday.<\/p>\n
The deal with Atlanta-based NCR Voyix, a consumer technology company, is a five-year platform agreement in which the convenience-store chain is deploying Voyix POS technology for convenience fuel retail\u2014<\/span>including both retail and commercial fuel solutions\u2014<\/span>along with additional platform capabilities. The companies have been partners for years, Pilot said. <\/p>\n The deployment of the Voyix Commerce Platform technology is already underway.<\/span><\/p>\n NCR Voyix\u2019s AI-enabled transformation of Pilot\u2019s underlying POS technology is creating a modern microservice architecture that is unlocking meaningful improvements for Pilot.<\/p>\n For example, the mobile ordering function for the new Pilot eats<\/a> foodservice program can now be directly integrated into the travel center\u2019s register, creating a more reliable order ahead feature. Resiliency is also vastly improved; if a store loses connection to its national cloud network, the individual microservices (credit card authorization, loyalty scanning, etc.) will keep running locally. <\/p>\n \u201cPilot aims to be the leading energy and experience provider people rely on to fuel their journeys,\u201d Knoxville, Tennessee-based Pilot said. \u201cNCR Voyix\u2019s underlying technology will help Pilot better serve its more than 1.2 million guests a day.
